A leading doctor I’ve interviewed a few times has a brilliant email signature. It reads: ‘Forgive terseness and typos. A function of being busy and using iPhone - not my personality!’
It’s brilliant, because their emails are always terse. And that little post-script does a lot of work. It instantly stops me worrying that I’ve asked a stupid question; that I’ve annoyed them. It’s a small kindness that makes me smile – and unclench – every time I read it.
